Our Story

House of Hicks, LLC is my story. It is my safe space; it is a PEACE (piece) of me.

Started as a conversation, now we are on the move.

WE ALL HAVE A STORY, this is mine.

First, (BIG) THANK YOU for taking the time to view and read this page. My brand, HOUSE OF HICKS, LLC has never been just about SamCol by Hicks, or e-commerce. I developed the idea of House of Hicks knowing that whatever I put out into the world; I wanted to do so in a way that would impact and make a change for the better.

As an Educator, House of Hicks, LLC initially started as a tutoring company, but when the pandemic hit we quickly switched gears. Like most, 2020 turned out to be a year of uncertainty for my husband and I as we had just found out we were pregnant with our second blessing. I was also insistently trying to cope with postpartum depression and balance my time being a wife, mother and an educator during the pandemic. Not to mention, the unjustified murders of Blacks like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and countless others was a wakeup call that we are not done with RACISM. In the height of all of darkness, my husband looked at me and said, "consider your passion, and sell that." And BOOM - just like that SamCol by Hicks was born!

SamCol by Hicks in some aspects is a savior for me ; it is a way to translate my love and commitment to the black community, and the culture of growing up in Los Angeles into something tangible, and sacred. With my love for books and commitment as an educator I curated a booktique.

SamCol by Hicks sells fun & funky enamel lapel pins, stylish literature, invigorating prose, healing crystals and novelty gifts for the seen and unseen art connoisseur. We focus on being good for the soul while manifesting our  inner greatness. We emphasize on healing us, loving us and lifting us up one conversation at a time.

In 2022, House of Hicks, LLC is committed with two active programs such as the Commerce Collective and The Literature-Loving Collective and a partnership with The Inner G Nonprofit Organization. We are continuing to expand our offerings based on how we can best serve the YOU!
